Smoothie King, the popular smoothie chain based in Dallas, just got a bit more star-studded.
Rapper 2 Chainz has officially joined their team of franchisees.
He’s teamed up with Philip Jones, a seasoned Smoothie King franchisee, to open a new location inside Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, the home court of the Atlanta Hawks.
This fresh Smoothie King spot opened right before the Atlanta Hawks NBA Draft Party on June 26, giving basketball fans a new place to grab a nutritious drink.
Smoothie King has been the official smoothie partner for the Hawks since last year, so this move seems like a slam dunk.
“We’re excited to expand and thrilled to welcome 2 Chainz to our franchisee family, especially in collaboration with our great partners, the Atlanta Hawks,” said Wan Kim, CEO of Smoothie King.
He added, “2 Chainz’s passion for health and wellness perfectly aligns with our mission to inspire a healthy and active lifestyle. His entrepreneurial spirit embodies our brand’s essence, making this partnership a perfect match.”
For 2 Chainz, this isn’t his first foray into the restaurant business.
He also co-owns Esco Restaurant Bar & Tapas in Atlanta with his friend Mychel “Snoop” Dillard.
They started franchising Esco in 2022 and now have six locations, mostly in the southern United States.
Now, with Smoothie King, 2 Chainz is switching roles from franchisor to franchisee.
He’s a big fan of the brand, visiting Smoothie King at least twice a week.
“I’ve been a regular at Smoothie King for a long time, so this partnership feels natural,” 2 Chainz shared.
“During my health journey, I’ve been careful with my choices, and whether I’m at games or events, I’m always on the lookout for nutritious options. Smoothie King stands out with its delicious smoothies that have no added sugar.”
