Ingredients

  • 1 lime
  • 2 Tbs. butter room temperature
  • 2 tsp. chopped cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ½ tsp. ancho chili powder
  • 4 bone-in-beef strip steaks
  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 2 Tbs. dry Montreal steak seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high for direct-heat cooking.
  • In a small bowl, grate ½ teaspoon of lime zest and squeeze out 1 teaspoon of lime juice.
  • Add butter, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, and ancho chili powder to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  • Brush both sides of the steaks with oil.
  • Sprinkle the steaks evenly with steak seasoning.
  • Place the steaks on the grill.
  • Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side, flipping once, until they reach medium-rare or your preferred doneness.
  • Remove the steaks from the grill and place them on a serving platter.
  • Brush the steaks with the prepared ancho-garlic butter mixture.
  • Let the steaks rest for 3-5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
